Country On Fire
Well, it's been a smoky couple of days in our neck of the woods, due to over 70 wildfires burning across the country. Prayers and best wishes to all those fighting these blazes. We appreciate what you do! Meanwhile, as the country's landscape is on fire, it's best athletes are in Paris, France, hoping to be on fire in a different sense. Let's just hope they represent us better than our government does!
Tik-Tok, Ya Don't Stop!
Remember Color Me Badd? If they only knew then about Tik-Tok... or did they? Hmm... Watch this 40 second video to see who else used those same lyrics. Hint: three kids from Brooklyn and some dude from Long Beach.
Cabin Fever
What is a good theme for this photo? How about, "Washed Up"? Everything in it has seen better days—the sign, the man, Von Miller... Hey wait, the man isn't washed up, that's me! And I've seen better days, but I believe the best are yet to come!
In June, I made it one year with my new side hustle (just kidding, this is my side hustle), and I even earned a week vacation. If you know me, you know where I'm going. Yep, we're going to the Kurtz cabin, up at a little place called—Aspen. Actually, it's not Aspen, but it's just on the other side of the mountain from Aspen, nestled along the Frying Pan River. Even better! One more week and we will be kicking our feet up, casting out a line, or tossing a horseshoe, listening to the soothing sound of the fresh, cold, springwater sloshing down the mountain, at a little place called, Norrie. You can check, it's on the map. Well, some of them anyway. Norrie Colony is a little piece of Heaven, just up the road from Ruedi Reservoir, near Basalt, Colorado. Back in the late 1800s, before my grandfather, W.C. Kurtz built this cabin at Norrie, the place was a camp for workers on the Colorado Midland Railroad.
We were playing cornhole, before cornhole was even popular, in Colorado anyway.

Boys will be boys... and dogs will be dogs... Love it!
