Colorful jungle drawing with animals, including zebras, hyenas, giraffes, lions, and an elephant, near a purple river and trees under a blue sky.

Jester the Giraffe is a bedtime story I used to tell my kids. Disney's The Lion King came out when they were little, and was probably part of my inspiration for the story. A couple years ago, my oldest son Kaleb, (who is now 30... OMG!) found an old drawing of Jester and company that I drew. That sparked the creative juices and I thought, why not write the story out, plug in some AI artwork (I'm a horrible artist), and publish it on Amazon?

eBook Version Just $4.99

Paperback Version Now Only $9.99

If you follow this blog, you know that I wrote out the story, and created most of the artwork, in one day. It wasn't hard since the story was already in my head. And I will say, it isn't exactly the same story I told my boys, but then again, it wasn't the the same the 100 times I told them either!

Text-to-Image With Generative A.I.

It All Starts With a Prompt

As I mentioned, I did use a.i. to create all the artwork in Jester the Giraffe, and I must say, I am very pleased with the colorful, high-quality images that these apps created. Of course, the machines did the heavy lifting, but they can't take all the credit. Someone has to tell it what to draw. That's where you and I come in. We can now take an image in our head and prompt a computer to draw it. And trust me, that is just the very basics. There are many different models (Stable Diffusion, DALL-E, Flux, etc.) trained specifically for this or that, and all kinds of styles and options. The latest gizmo is putting a still image in motion. Watch out peeps, the next update they'll be sleeping with our husbands and wives. I kid. You not.

Much Thanks to the Illustrators

This book would not have been possible without the help of these companies:

Logos of Ideogram, IMGN AI, Leonardo.AI, NightCafe, OpenArt, and Playground on an orange background, showcasing various AI platforms.

I suppose I shouldn't sell myself short. This book was possible, it just wouldn't have been as colorful and awesome! If I make any money selling this book, I'll be sure to pay the companies above by finally joining their paid plan. And that there is code for: Yes, I created all the images in Jester the Giraffe for FREE!
